Grant News

December 22nd, 2009

Roscommon SPCA sends our thanks to Minister Brendan Smith and the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food for the grant of €10,000 they have given us this December 2009 in recognition of the work we do. This funding is essential for us to continue our work each year and is truly appreciated. We are also pleased to have the Department echo our message of responsible ownership and care of animals, particularly at this time of year.

We have Christmas cards and calenders on sale: €4.99 Cards €8 calenders.  They are well worth the money!

    About

    Charity Number:
    CHY 18790

    roscommonanimals.com is the online home of Roscommon SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). We are a non-profit organisation run by people who volunteer their time. We look out for the care and protection of animals in County Roscommon.

    We believe that animals should have

    * Freedom from hunger, thirst and malnutrition

    * Freedom from discomfort

    * Freedom from disease and injury

    * Freedom to behave normally

    * Freedom from distress and fear

    Many thanks to the Department of Agriculture, from whom we have just received a generous grant of 10,000 euro (Dec. 2009), we are indeed very grateful for this. Without that money the Society would not be able to cope. We have received a grant from the Department for the past few years. Unfortunately though, we still have to do a huge amount of fundraising in order to keep going. We use private boarding kennels for the rescued dogs, and this, and vet bills cost a lot of money.
