Help us find Mojo

October 24th, 2008

A St. Bernard Dog called Mojo was stolen from his home in the Portadown, Co. Armagh area on Saturday 13th September 2008.

The dog was previously rescued by ISPCA, and was the ISPCA mascot until he was rehomed last year.  Mojo is neutered and micro-chipped, was wearing a blue denim collar & tag.

He has growth abnormalities and joint damage which leaves him stiff and sore.  He is on medication, and also receives regular physio, Canine Touch from his owner to keep him comfortable.

A new white van with blue writing, & southern reg was seen in the area, & was in Loughbrickland Tues 23rd Sept.  A tonne of dog food was also stolen in this area recently.  Please take the reg if you see this van.

Mojo is well known through-out Ireland.  Appeared on TV with Fair City star Gerad Byrne on Jigs & Reels.  & on talk shows.  He is also currently on the cover of ISPCA annual newsletter.  He travels with his owner promoting Canine Touch – Pet Expo, Odessey Horse Show, Ballygraffan Event, Necarne etc.

His owners are offering a reward for his safe return.

    roscommonanimals.com is the online home of Roscommon SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). We are a non-profit organisation run by people who volunteer their time. We look out for the care and protection of animals in County Roscommon.

    We believe that animals should have

    * Freedom from hunger, thirst and malnutrition

    * Freedom from discomfort

    * Freedom from disease and injury

    * Freedom to behave normally

    * Freedom from distress and fear

    Many thanks to the Department of Agriculture, from whom we have just received a generous grant of 10,000 euro (Dec. 2009), we are indeed very grateful for this. Without that money the Society would not be able to cope. We have received a grant from the Department for the past few years. Unfortunately though, we still have to do a huge amount of fundraising in order to keep going. We use private boarding kennels for the rescued dogs, and this, and vet bills cost a lot of money.
