Have you seen Gary?

November 23rd, 2008

Have you seen our cat GARY?

He disappeared without trace from the Barnahalla/Moyne/Fairymount area of County Roscommon on the evening of  Saturday, November 1st 2008. He is a big 4 year old neutered male cat who has never gone missing before.

He is a dark black and brown striped tabby colour.  He is very friendly, but a bit timid with strangers.

He has a very loud purr, but a very quiet meow. Gary is a much loved family pet and we are desperate to know what has become of him. If you can help please ring 086 081 4683.  We would like to know anything—even if its bad news. There is a reward on offer! Thank you.

Good luck to Mickey as he settles in his new home.  Amber has had a bit of good luck too – she has been reunited with her original owners after being missing since February!

    roscommonanimals.com is the online home of Roscommon SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). We are a non-profit organisation run by people who volunteer their time. We look out for the care and protection of animals in County Roscommon.

    We believe that animals should have

    * Freedom from hunger, thirst and malnutrition

    * Freedom from discomfort

    * Freedom from disease and injury

    * Freedom to behave normally

    * Freedom from distress and fear

    Many thanks to the Department of Agriculture, from whom we have just received a generous grant of 10,000 euro (Dec. 2009), we are indeed very grateful for this. Without that money the Society would not be able to cope. We have received a grant from the Department for the past few years. Unfortunately though, we still have to do a huge amount of fundraising in order to keep going. We use private boarding kennels for the rescued dogs, and this, and vet bills cost a lot of money.
