Volunteers needed urgently

June 30th, 2009

It’s fundraising time again, and we need your help.  On the 10th of July we will be packing bags in Dunnes in Roscommon and on the 18th of July we will be doing a street collection in Roscommon.  If anyone has an hour or two to spare on either (or both!) of these days, the help would be greatly appreciated.  Do you know of any friends/neighbours/teenagers who could also help?  Please call or text Karen at 0866613409 if you can help.  Thanks!

Missing Jack Russell

June 15th, 2009

We are trying to find our 4 year old tricolour jack russell bitch.  She is very friendly, is about 11 inches in height; usually her ears stand up but when she’s called or petted she puts them down. As the photos show she is really missed by us and our other Russell and shows her teeth when she smiles. A reward is offered for her safe return, so if you have any news of her current whereabouts please contact Toni Flood on 0872143992.

    * Freedom to behave normally

    * Freedom from distress and fear

    Many thanks to the Department of Agriculture, from whom we have just received a generous grant of 10,000 euro (Dec. 2009), we are indeed very grateful for this. Without that money the Society would not be able to cope. We have received a grant from the Department for the past few years. Unfortunately though, we still have to do a huge amount of fundraising in order to keep going. We use private boarding kennels for the rescued dogs, and this, and vet bills cost a lot of money.
