Fundraising

July 10th, 2009

We will be out and about Roscommon over the next few days, if you see us and can spare a few cent we will be very grateful.  All money raised goes towards making life better for the abandoned animals in the county.  We will be in Dunnes Stores in Roscommon today and tomorrow (10th and 11th), and holding church gates collections in Castlerea, Trien and Cloonboniffe tomorrow and Sunday (11th and 12th).  All donations, large and small, will be really appreciated.

    roscommonanimals.com is the online home of Roscommon SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). We are a non-profit organisation run by people who volunteer their time. We look out for the care and protection of animals in County Roscommon.

    We believe that animals should have

    * Freedom from hunger, thirst and malnutrition

    * Freedom from discomfort

    * Freedom from disease and injury

    * Freedom to behave normally

    * Freedom from distress and fear

    Many thanks to the Department of Agriculture, from whom we have just received a generous grant of 10,000 euro (Dec. 2009), we are indeed very grateful for this. Without that money the Society would not be able to cope. We have received a grant from the Department for the past few years. Unfortunately though, we still have to do a huge amount of fundraising in order to keep going. We use private boarding kennels for the rescued dogs, and this, and vet bills cost a lot of money.
