Meet Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme:

Parsley Parsley

Sage Sage

Rosemary (Rosie)Rosemary (Rosie)

ThymeThyme

These four kittens were found abandoned over the May bank holiday. They are about 5-6 weeks old and were just left to fend for themselves, they are too young to do so. At such a tender age it is so important they are cared for and our thanks are extended to the person who had time to care and let us know about them. We have named them Parsley, Sage Rosemary and Thyme, they are being cared for in one of our foster homes for now but will need to find homes of their own in a few weeks. If you can provide the caring environment they need please contact us on 087 0505594

Help us secure good animal rights welfare

May 4th, 2010

The Dog Breeding Establishments Bill is currently at the Committee stage in the Dáil, The Animal Health and Welfare Bill is nearing completion. Both these Bills are long overdue, and it is crucial that the Government ensures their enactment and enforcement as soon as possible

Could you send the letter below to your local TD and get your friends to send one each?   We don’t have much time as the puppy farmers are trying to water down the bill.

I know it takes up a little time and a stamp but we need your help more than ever.

Please help us to help the animals.

    roscommonanimals.com is the online home of Roscommon SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). We are a non-profit organisation run by people who volunteer their time. We look out for the care and protection of animals in County Roscommon.

    We believe that animals should have

    * Freedom from hunger, thirst and malnutrition

    * Freedom from discomfort

    * Freedom from disease and injury

    * Freedom to behave normally

    * Freedom from distress and fear

    Many thanks to the Department of Agriculture, from whom we have just received a generous grant of 10,000 euro (Dec. 2009), we are indeed very grateful for this. Without that money the Society would not be able to cope. We have received a grant from the Department for the past few years. Unfortunately though, we still have to do a huge amount of fundraising in order to keep going. We use private boarding kennels for the rescued dogs, and this, and vet bills cost a lot of money.
