In order to look after the animals in our care we have to spend a lot of money! The animals have to be fed, sheltered and receive expensive medical attention. It is an enormous struggle to stay on top of all of the bills. If you can help in any way at all we would really appreciate it. Have you an idea for a fundraising event? Or would you be willing to spare a couple of hours to help out at an organised event (e.g. help us pack bags in a local supermarket). If so please contact us

Please note that membership is at the discretion of the Committee.

Donations
We will make great use of any money you can send us – Click here to see how you can make a donation.

If you have any unwanted gifts, household items, ornaments, plants, garden furniture, curtains, books, unused clothes and shoes, etc (all in good condition),  please call Karen at 086 6613409 and a collection can be arranged.  These items will be sold to raise money to help animals in our care.

Please also contact Karen at 086 6613409 if you are looking to purchase something a little different at a reasonable price, all sales will help the animals!

Dog Walking

Volunteers are always needed to help with walking the dogs who are in our temporary care.  If you can spare an hour or two a week to help out it would be great, please call 087 0505594.  Think about the great exercise you’ll be getting yourself too!!

Foster
Can you offer temporary accommodation for animals who come into our care? Even one night can help. Let us know if we can contact you in an animal’s time of need

    roscommonanimals.com is the online home of Roscommon SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). We are a non-profit organisation run by people who volunteer their time. We look out for the care and protection of animals in County Roscommon.

    We believe that animals should have

    * Freedom from hunger, thirst and malnutrition

    * Freedom from discomfort

    * Freedom from disease and injury

    * Freedom to behave normally

    * Freedom from distress and fear

     

    Many thanks to the Department of Agriculture, from whom we have just received a generous grant of 10,000 euro (Dec. 2009), we are indeed very grateful for this. Without that money the Society would not be able to cope. We have received a grant from the Department for the past few years. Unfortunately though, we still have to do a huge amount of fundraising in order to keep going. We use private boarding kennels for the rescued dogs, and this, and vet bills cost a lot of money.
